How To Change Your Windows Drive Letters

Have you ever wondered how to change your windows drive letters?  In this guide we will show you exactly how to do it.  Windows automatically assign all drive letters but you can change them if you wish.

First thing to do is close down any programs that are open.  Then in XP to go start menu > control panel > Administritive Tools > Computer management > Disk Manager.  Vista users will find this under system and maintenance, and windows 7 users will find this under System and security.  When in disk manager right click a drive and choose ‘Change Drive Letter’ to change the drive.

You should be able to change all drives apart from your C: drive as the operating system is installed in this drive and can not be changed as its in use.
