  Have you ever clicked on "Never Remember" my firefox password only to decide at a later date that you do want firefox to remember your password.  Well there is a way to get firefox to re-prompt you.  Click on the tools menu and select the options then click on the security tab.  In the password section click the exceptions button,  Now find the website you want to remember the password for then select it and hit remove.  Now revisit the site and it should prompt you to remember the password
